Description:
Silicon carbide (SiC) is made of quartz sand, petroleum coke (or coal coke), wood chips and other raw materials through high temperature smelting in a resistance furnace.
Function:
1.Silicon carbide is very hard. It has excellent thermal conductivity. Moreover, it is a semiconductor that resists oxidation at high temperatures.
2.Silicon carbide can play the role of silicon increase, carbon increase, deoxidizer, temperature increase, incubation in different links of steelmaking, which can get more benefits with less effort in the steelmaking industry.
3.Low-grade silicon carbide (containing about 85% SiC) is a good deoxidizer. It can accelerate the speed of steelmaking, facilitate the control of chemical composition, and improve the quality of steel.
