Silicon metal

Silicon Metal

Metal silicon, also known as crystalline silicon or industrial silicon, is a new type of alloy product. It is an iron-silicon alloy smelted by electric furnace using coke, steel chips, quartz (or silica) as raw materials. The main component silicon content is about 98%, and the remaining impurities are iron, aluminum, calcium, etc.

It is a silver-gray or dark-grey lump with high melting point, good heat resistance, high resistivity and excellent oxidation resistance. It is called “industrial glutamic acid” and is indispensable in high-tech industries. With good chemical properties in use, it is widely used in the industry.

Application :
1.Widely applied to refractory material and power metallurgy industry to improve the heat resistance, wear resistance and oxidation resistance.
2.Metallic silicon can be used as an alloying element additive, which is widely used in low alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical silicon steel. Metallic silicon is often used as a reducing agent in the production of ferroalloys and the chemical industry.
3.Metallic silicon can be used in the production of organic silicon and semiconductor materials, and the preparation of alloys for special purposes.
4.Metal silicon is made to monocrystalline silicon which is widely used in high-tech fields as an essential raw material for integrated circuits and electronic components.
5.In the metallurgical foundry industry, metal silicon is used as a non-ferrous alloy additive and a silicon steel alloy agent to improve the hardenability of steel.
